There’s no time like the PRESENT

What are YOU waiting for?

It seems we’re always waiting for something.

For something to start or end,
For things to calm down,
For the times when we will the have time…… to start a new thing.

There’s always something else we need to do first.
Something more important,  or demanding,  out of our control.

We wait for more time,
more money,  better health,
a better job,  the water to boil,
the kids to grow up,
for the line to get shorter,
for the sun to come out,
for our trials to be over.

We even sit in rooms set up especially for waiting.
We wait,  and wait,  and wait…..

Well,  the wait is finally over.

It’s time….time for Omniallinfinitude™.

PAUSING to enjoy the view

Refresh and Reflect between Journeys

No matter what kind of journey you are on,  along the way you will need to take an off ramp,  visit a rest stop,  have a picnic,  take a picture,  visit a friend,  take a nap.

We need time to read the map,  plan the next phase of our journey,  review where we’ve been,  enjoy the moment,  rest up,  catch our breath and get prepared to go again.

Between each of our Omniallinfinitude Journeys we will be taking a couple weeks off of blogging for this very purpose.

However – we are never without suggestions for you as you enjoy this change of pace.

Here are some things you can do while you wait.

  • Continue to practice Silence,  Solitude,  Prayer and Fasting
  • Read the Gospel of Mark
  • See a good movie
  • Meet your neighbors
  • Pay attention
  • Walk on the beach
  • Try a new recipe
  • Look at the stars
  • Watch the sunrise
  • Go on a road trip

Then join us for Journey Three – Beyond Time and Space.
Until then,  enjoy the Pause.

Make Omniallinfinitude part of your Journey

GOD

Does it matter what we think?

Taking the First Step

There’s always so much anticipation
We think about it
Get our supplies
Get new clothes
Put it on our calendars
We can’t wait,  we talk about it,  create expectations,  put our name on the list,  and buy our tickets

We know we should make that move,  look for a new place to live or that new job
Or go back to school
Get out of a bad relationship or reconcile with a friend
Go to that meeting and get help
Reach out to God
Move on with God

Starting a Journey begins with a single step
Sometimes we get pushed,  drafted,  or dragged kicking and screaming,  even kidnapped
That first step is always the hardest – maybe tomorrow,  or next year,  or after this or that happens….you know how it goes
And once you take that first step – then it seems it’s always three steps forward and two steps back
But keep moving
Keep your eyes on the prize
Even if sometimes we loose focus and can’t remember what the prize is

And so we bravely begin,  we walk through the door,  and we wait
We fill out papers,  go through security,  answer a million questions
We audition,  take tests,  discover we need more training
It seems we are just bouncing from here to there
We study and practice,  we watch…
And then……we finally build some credibility,  respect,  and authority

Every journey begins with prep work
Like painting a room, or planting a garden
Lots of prep work,  mostly prep work

Is it worth it?  More than you can imagine……experience shows it will take longer,  cost more and not end up being at all what you thought it would be

It’s much better

Get started,  take that first step,  do the prep work

Enjoy the journey

Do You Ever Think About God?

Do you ever think about God?

Is your understanding of Him skewed because you look at Him through the prism of your own problems,  struggles,  experiences or situations?

It makes a difference how we think about God.

In fact,  it affects everything….

Everything we believe,  feel and do.

Our society today seeks to turn God into an errand boy,

a good luck charm,

a user friendly cosmic superhero

who shows up just in time to put a stamp of approval on our plans and make them so.

Unfortunately,  our human portraits of God hardly measure up to the truth about God.   And knowing and experiencing the truth about God is primary in living an adventurous and fruitful life.

So we will start at the very beginning…Who is God and how do I get to know Him,  not just know about Him?

Maybe you’re curious and taking the first steps toward a life of faith,

Or restarting a journey that has been sidetracked or burnt out.

Or perhaps you just need refreshment and encouragement as you continue to persevere in your spiritual adventure.

God is waiting

Let’s meet Him together in a brand new way.

The Omniallinfinitude™ Blog Experience begins.

Right here.

Join us for Journey One – Highest Honors.  We will start off with God’s attribute of Transcendence as well as the spiritual practices of Silence and Solitude – and a whole lot more.

Click here to see a more in depth description of the Elements included in each Journey.

Each Journey will be presented over a two month period through 16 blog posts,  including information,  assignments, links,  and challenges.   A more traditional format is also available through a downloadable PDF.   This will allow you to see the entire journey as you follow along with the blog.   This PDF contains links to online resources and content.

One thing we’ve discovered along the way is that rubbing shoulders with people who know and trust God is contagious.   We invite you to join us online for a little shoulder rubbing……

and eventually,  we will begin to see those very same problems,  struggles,  experiences or situations…..through the prism of GOD

….which makes all the difference in the world.

If you leave us your email,  we will send you a reminder when a new blog is posted.

God is the Ultimate Constant

He is so good at what He does – it seems we can’t help but take HIM for granted.

The extraordinary becomes so ordinary,  we no longer take notice.

We become blind to God and turn a blind eye to others.

Oftentimes we get stuck,  waylaid along the way,  and we stop and settle for a life of routine and hurry,  instead of one filled with compassion and creativity.

We . are . bored . to . death.

It’s so easy to get in a rut…..Three things can keep us from moving on with God and taking our spiritual lives off autopilot.

  • We’re just tired and weary,  always stressed,  chasing after the wind,  trying to have it all,  we don’t even realize what’s happening to us.
  • We’re afraid,  afraid of failing,  of our own inadequacies,  that we won’t measure up,  so we stay where it’s safe.
  • Life is good,  comfort is king – why upset the apple cart,  why risk something new,  why take a chance.  We become complacent and stop paying attention.

We give up,  pack it in,  and our gaze wanders from God – to anything else that might satisfy – but nothing ever does.  Our accessorized lives do not produce the lives of adventure we long for and that only God can provide.

We . need . to . refocus.

Omniallinfinitude™ takes us back to the very beginning,  who is God and how do I get to know Him,  not just know about Him?

It’s time to turn away from our preconceived assumptions about a God who is about our size and looks a lot like us – to the wonder and reality of actually sharing our journey with a God who is beyond our imagination,  yet as close as our heartbeat.

Yes,  there will be struggle along the way – and it seems we have a million questions.

  • Can He be trusted?   What can I count on Him for?
  • Is there evidence that God is real?
  • Why is this so hard?   Why do we struggle so?   Why is there doubt,  fear,  anger,  depression,  pain and suffering?
  • What is He waiting for?
  • Why doesn’t anyone care?   Why don’t we care?   Why doesn’t anyone care about us?
  • Why are we here?   What happens when we die?

The answers are out there – to all these questions and more.

If you are ready to start,  START OVER,  or even just in need of a little TUNE UP along the way….
